Virtual Technical Assistant

Giant Swarm is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Technical Working Student to join its growing product development team. As a Technical Working Student, you will play a key role in enhancing the company’s managed Kubernetes offering.

Role of the Job

As a Technical Working Student, you will work closely with experienced engineers to develop and improve cloud-native tools for the Giant Swarm App Platform. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies like Kubernetes and cloud-native applications.

Main Responsibilities

  • Package cloud-native tools for the Giant Swarm App Platform using Helm.
  • Build, improve, and test Kubernetes controllers written in Go.
  • Collaborate with App Engineers to improve the stability, security, and performance of these tools.
  • Write and execute automated tests to ensure the quality of the offerings.
  • Improve operations through dashboards, alerts, and logging.
  • Automate updates and improve usability.
  • Write technical documentation to enable seamless customer adoption.
  • Explore and experiment with new technologies and contribute to open-source projects.

Qualification Needed

  • Experience with container-based workloads (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Open-source contributions (a plus)
  • Programming skills (Python, Go, or similar)
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a remote team
  • Ideally based in Germany and currently enrolled as a student
