Role of the Job
The Billing Analyst is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to support the billing process, including claim audit reviews, submissions, and payment processing. The ideal candidate will have experience in home health care billing and a strong understanding of Medicare and commercial billing processes.
Main Responsibilities
- Check claims: Review Medicare and other insurance claims to make sure they’re correct.
- Send claims to the state: Submit claims to the state for payment every day.
- Fix claim problems: Work on claims that are stuck or have issues.
- Process reports: Handle reports about patient care and billing.
- Bill insurance companies: Send bills to insurance companies daily.
- Fix billing issues: Look at reports to find and fix billing problems.
- Call insurance companies: Make calls to insurance companies to resolve issues.
- Answer billing calls: Respond to calls about billing questions.
- Collect patient payments: Get payments from patients.
