Role of the Job

The Data Entry Associate is responsible for accurately and efficiently entering data into computer systems, reviewing data for discrepancies, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information. This role supports different departments within the business unit and requires strong organizational and communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and prepare source documents for data entry
  • Review data for discrepancies and resolve or return incomplete documents
  • Enter alphabetic and numeric data into assigned system databases
  • Ensure data accuracy and correct errors or duplications
  • Follow data program security practices and procedures
  • Secure information by completing database backups daily
  • Perform clerical duties such as sorting, filing, emailing, and proofreading
  • Maintain confidentiality of personal and financial information

Qualifications Needed

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum six months of related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience in a medical office preferred
  • Knowledge of general computer software, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and the Internet
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
