About the Role

Liverpool City Council is seeking a motivated and compassionate Refugee and Migration Support Officer to help refugees, people seeking sanctuary and vulnerable migrants access safe and suitable housing.

Working within the Refugee and Migration Housing Team, you will help deliver housing advice, homelessness prevention, assessment and rehousing services.

You will work alongside Refugee and Migration Housing Officers and the Team Leader, while also liaising with accommodation providers, community organisations, internal council services and other partners.

The role offers an opportunity to support vulnerable residents as they navigate housing services and wider support networks in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing housing advice and practical support to refugees, people seeking sanctuary and vulnerable migrants.
  • Supporting homelessness prevention and relief activities.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for the Refugee and Migration Team.
  • Triaging and allocating cases appropriately.
  • Liaising with partner organisations and supporting effective partnership working.
  • Helping individuals access relevant services and wider support networks.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and information.
  • Contributing to service performance, quality standards and effective service delivery.
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external partners to identify appropriate housing solutions.
