Care Support Worker – Assist Home Care

Assist Home Care Ltd. is recruiting Care Support Workers to provide compassionate, one-to-one support to vulnerable adults and children across Bradford, Kirklees, Wakefield and Leeds.

The role involves supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs to live independent and dignified lives in their own homes and local communities.

Main Responsibilities

As a Care Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care, including bathing, dressing and continence support.
  • Supporting service users with mobility, meal preparation and household errands or shopping.
  • Planning and accompanying service users on community trips and recreational activities.
  • Providing emotional support and using proactive strategies to safely manage and de-escalate challenging behaviours.
  • Recording service user progress and updating care plans.
  • Conducting support calls and working closely with families and external professionals.
  • Taking part in ongoing training to safely support more complex care needs.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A valid driving licence and access to their own car for travelling between service users’ homes.
  • At least 1 year of care experience.
  • Experience with learning disabilities and challenging behaviours is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including days, nights and weekends.
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or equivalent, is preferred.
  • Good written and spoken English.

Additional Information

Applicants with experience in care and learning disabilities are encouraged to apply. Drivers are preferred, although non-drivers may also apply if they are able to commute to service users.
