About the Role

The IT Desktop Analyst will provide first and second-line technical support to students and staff across the university. The successful candidate will diagnose and resolve IT issues, maintain computer laboratories, support staff devices, and assist with audiovisual services for events and teaching activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical support via phone, email, and messaging platforms
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, printer, and network issues
  • Supporting Windows, Microsoft 365, and macOS environments
  • Installing and maintaining IT equipment
  • Managing incidents and service requests through ticketing systems
  • Supporting specialist hardware and software used in teaching and research
  • Assisting with audiovisual and event technology support

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • HND qualification or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of IT and AV technologies within an educational environment
  • Experience supporting Windows, Microsoft 365 applications, and macOS
  • Experience using incident management and ticketing systems
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of IT-related legislation and health and safety requirements
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
