About the Role
Innovate UK is seeking a Senior Credit Analyst to support the assessment and management of lending transactions for innovative UK businesses.
Working alongside experienced Credit Specialists, you will analyse financial information, assess business performance, prepare recommendations for the Credit Committee, and monitor lending portfolios.
Depending on your experience and performance, you may also manage your own portfolio of lending cases.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Credit Analyst, you will:
- Analyse financial statements, cash flow forecasts and balance sheets.
- Assess the financial and non-financial strength of applicant businesses.
- Conduct sensitivity and credit risk analysis.
- Gather additional information from applicants where required.
- Present lending recommendations to the Credit Committee.
- Maintain accurate credit records and governance documentation.
- Support approved lending transactions through completion.
- Review legal documentation and security requirements.
- Carry out annual reviews of existing lending portfolios.
- Monitor financial covenants and identify early signs of business distress.
- Work closely with Relationship Managers and Lending Operations teams.
- Participate in continuous professional development and strategic projects.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A degree or equivalent relevant business experience.
- Experience analysing audited and management financial accounts.
- Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills.
- Knowledge of key business financial indicators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience presenting financial information and recommendations.
- Process management experience, including forecasting or cash management.
Desirable Qualifications
The ideal candidate may also have:
- A professional financial qualification.
- Experience in banking or alternative finance.
