About the Role
As a Social Worker, you will support adults to live independently while working closely with healthcare professionals, housing teams, police, and partner agencies.
Your responsibilities will include carrying out strengths-based assessments, developing person-centred care plans, safeguarding vulnerable adults, completing Mental Capacity Assessments, leading Best Interest meetings, and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Important: Adult Social Care services in Salford are expected to transfer to Salford City Council during 2026 under TUPE regulations, subject to consultation and completion of the transfer process.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out strengths-based social care assessments.
- Develop person-centred support plans.
- Manage complex caseloads.
- Complete Mental Capacity Assessments.
- Lead Best Interest meetings.
- Safeguard vulnerable adults.
- Conduct Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
- Promote independence using reablement approaches.
- Apply the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
- Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain accurate electronic records.
- Support and mentor junior colleagues and students.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent).
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Access to a vehicle with valid MOT and insurance.
- Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and Equality Act.
- Experience safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases independently.
