About the Role

As a Social Worker, you will support adults to live independently while working closely with healthcare professionals, housing teams, police, and partner agencies.

Your responsibilities will include carrying out strengths-based assessments, developing person-centred care plans, safeguarding vulnerable adults, completing Mental Capacity Assessments, leading Best Interest meetings, and working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.

Important: Adult Social Care services in Salford are expected to transfer to Salford City Council during 2026 under TUPE regulations, subject to consultation and completion of the transfer process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out strengths-based social care assessments.
  • Develop person-centred support plans.
  • Manage complex caseloads.
  • Complete Mental Capacity Assessments.
  • Lead Best Interest meetings.
  • Safeguard vulnerable adults.
  • Conduct Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
  • Promote independence using reablement approaches.
  • Apply the Care Act 2014 and other relevant legislation.
  • Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintain accurate electronic records.
  • Support and mentor junior colleagues and students.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree, DipSW, CQSW, CSS or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Access to a vehicle with valid MOT and insurance.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and Equality Act.
  • Experience safeguarding vulnerable adults.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases independently.
