About Centrepoint
Centrepoint is one of the UK’s leading youth homelessness charities. The organisation provides vulnerable young people with accommodation, health support, practical assistance and life skills to help them move towards independent living, education, training and employment.
Working with partners, Centrepoint supports more than 16,000 young people each year and aims to end youth homelessness by 2037.
The charity is seeking a creative and motivated Creative Content Officer to join its Communications and Campaigns team in Aldgate, London.
About the Role
As a Creative Content Officer, you will create engaging content that showcases Centrepoint’s work, raises awareness of youth homelessness and encourages people to support its campaigns.
You will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications, campaigns and brand teams to produce content that highlights the charity’s impact while putting young people’s voices and experiences at the centre of its storytelling.
The role involves producing videos, photographs, graphics, written stories and digital assets for social media, websites, public relations and campaigns.
Centrepoint operates a hybrid working model, requiring employees to spend at least 50% of their working week in the office. For most full-time employees, this means attending the office five days over a two-week period.
Key Responsibilities
- Create accessible and engaging videos, photographs, graphics, written stories and digital content for different platforms.
- Plan, film and edit videos, as well as capture photography at services, events and activities.
- Interview young people and colleagues to collect authentic stories, quotes and case studies.
- Develop a consistent pipeline of content to support fundraising, communications, campaigns and brand activities.
- Turn creative briefs into audience-focused content that follows the organisation’s brand guidelines, tone of voice and accessibility standards.
- Organise digital content libraries and ensure materials comply with safeguarding, consent and data protection requirements.
- Monitor content performance and emerging trends to identify opportunities to improve audience engagement.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver high-quality creative work within deadlines.
Essential Skills and Experience
Applicants should demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Experience creating content across video, photography, graphics and written formats.
- Strong practical video production skills, including planning, filming, editing and preparing content for digital channels.
- Photography skills and experience using creative software and tools to produce and edit content.
- Excellent writing, communication and storytelling abilities.
- The ability to adapt content for different audiences, purposes and platforms.
- Experience interviewing contributors and gathering stories sensitively.
- An understanding of ethical storytelling, consent and safeguarding.
- Experience working with different stakeholders and managing projects from the initial brief to completion.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Experience working for a charity or purpose-led organisation, or creating content involving young people, would be an advantage.
Salary and Employee Benefits
Successful candidates will receive a salary of £31,000 per year, alongside training, development opportunities and a range of staff benefits, including:
- Annual leave: 25 days per year, increasing by one day annually up to a maximum of 27 days.
- Healthcare cash plan: Support towards a range of medical treatments, including dental, optical and complementary therapies.
- Private medical insurance.
- Pension: Employer contributions of 5%.
- Cycle to Work scheme: Access to the cycle loan scheme.
- Travel support: An interest-free travel loan.
- Training and development: Opportunities to develop professional skills.
