The role involves communicating with victims, providing case updates, explaining decisions and procedures, and working with criminal justice partners to ensure victims receive appropriate support and guidance.

About the Role
The successful candidates will provide a high-quality service to victims of crime through effective verbal and written communication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing sensitive and challenging conversations with victims with professionalism and empathy.
- Providing accurate written communication within required timescales.
- Explaining case outcomes and helping victims understand decisions.
- Arranging and attending meetings between victims and the CPS where appropriate.
- Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Working with criminal justice partners, including police forces and witness care units.
- Signposting victims to relevant support agencies where necessary.
- Helping victims understand the CPS, criminal justice procedures and their rights.
- Managing your own workload and escalating risks or issues to managers.
Experience and Requirements
Experience of working with victims of crime or in a customer service environment is desirable but not essential.
The CPS states that GCSE and A-Level results will not be taken into account.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong communication, empathy, professionalism and the ability to manage sensitive situations.

Salary and Benefits
The salary is £30,700–£32,430.
The CPS contributes towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme, with an employer contribution of up to 28.97%.

The CPS operates a hybrid working policy. Employees must spend at least 40% of their contracted hours over a four-week period at court, in an office or another official workplace, depending on business needs and the nature of the work.

Recruitment and Selection Process
