Creative Support is currently recruiting experienced Relief Support Workers to join its dedicated team in Swinton.
About the Role
As a Relief Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred support to adults with complex learning disabilities and physical health needs living in their own supported accommodation.
You will encourage independence, promote wellbeing, and help individuals achieve their personal goals while ensuring they receive the highest standard of care. Working as part of a supportive team, you will follow a flexible rota that may include:
- Day shifts
- Evening shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Sleep-in duties
- Waking night shifts
Applicants must have at least 12 months of previous experience in a support or care role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care and support.
- Assist with personal care while maintaining dignity and respect.
- Support individuals with daily living activities.
- Encourage independence using re-enablement principles.
- Assist service users in accessing community activities and appointments.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with service users.
- Work closely with families and healthcare professionals.
- Follow individual support plans and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate care records.
- Ensure safeguarding, health, and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 12 months’ experience in a support or care role.
- Experience supporting people with learning disabilities or complex care needs.
- Knowledge of person-centred care and re-enablement principles.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to work weekends, waking nights, and sleep-in shifts.
