Alternative Futures Group (AFG) is recruiting a Mobilisation Support Worker to support the development and setup of new care services in Liverpool and across the North West.
This is a permanent, full-time, on-site position paying £16.45 per hour. The successful candidate will provide complex care and support to new individuals, help prepare new care packages, shadow-train newly onboarded support workers and travel across the North West when required.

About the Role
The Mobilisation Support Worker will play an important role in setting up new care services and ensuring people receive safe, effective and high-quality support from the beginning of their care package.
The role involves providing short-term care and support to new individuals, helping prepare homes before care begins and supporting the training and development of new members of the core care team.
You may also be required to assist with initial rostering, coordinate rotas and help ensure operational objectives are delivered effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Care and Support
The successful candidate will:
- Provide complex care and support in accordance with each person’s Personalised Plan.
- Travel across the North West when required to support new care packages.
- Support people with complex care needs, including individuals with acquired brain injury, spinal injury, learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs.
- Support people who may present with behaviours that challenge using appropriate techniques and strategies.
- Provide safe medication and pain management in accordance with individual care plans.
- Support people to maintain their independence and make informed choices.
- Help people access their local communities and participate actively in their living environment.
- Support people to maintain their home and living environment.
- Help people develop and maintain relationships of their choice.
- Respect and support people’s cultural beliefs and practices.
- Promote positive risk-taking and independence.
- Follow the principles of the Mental Capacity Act when supporting individuals with decision-making difficulties.
- Protect people from abuse, neglect and ill-treatment and report safeguarding concerns appropriately.
Training and Team Support
The role will also involve:
- Shadow-training new core care team support workers.
- Helping new support workers develop the confidence and competence required to deliver appropriate care.
- Supporting staff to reach competence ahead of clinical nurse sign-off.
- Acting as a positive role model for new support workers.
- Demonstrating AFG’s values and commitment to safe, effective and high-quality care.
- Attending mandatory and specialist clinical training sessions.
- Maintaining the required competence to provide care for people with complex needs.
Service Mobilisation
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring necessary paperwork is available within the home before care delivery begins.
- Assisting with initial rostering and coordinating rotas.
- Helping establish new care packages and services.
- Managing medical equipment and supplies.
- Monitoring supplies and arranging timely re-orders where necessary.
- Reporting incidents that cause or could potentially cause harm.
- Maintaining accurate records in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
Principal Accountabilities
Team Coordination
Facilitate effective collaboration between team members, ensure everyone understands their responsibilities and help remove obstacles to progress.
Milestone Tracking
Monitor project deliverables, timelines and budgets and provide progress updates to Area Managers and the Head of Operations.
Stakeholder Communication
Act as a key point of contact for project updates, risks and issues while ensuring clear and consistent communication across the team.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate project records, prepare reports and support compliance with organisational standards.
Continuity and Progress
Proactively step in to complete tasks or address gaps to help ensure operational projects are delivered effectively and on time.
What the Role Involves
This position combines hands-on complex care, staff support, service mobilisation, coordination and operational responsibilities.
Because the role involves supporting people with complex needs, employees must be prepared to participate in appropriate training relating to areas such as behaviours that may be described as challenging and moving and handling.
There may also be a risk associated with passive smoking.
