ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Transport for London (TfL) is recruiting a Cyber Security Engineering and Product Lead to provide strategic and technical leadership across its cyber security engineering and product function.
This is a senior cyber security opportunity supporting one of the world’s most complex urban transport networks, with responsibility spanning IT, Operational Technology (OT), critical infrastructure and safety-critical systems.
The successful candidate will help strengthen TfL’s cyber security capabilities, develop security tooling and solutions, support Security Operations Centre capabilities, and provide expert guidance across major technology and engineering initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Cyber Security Engineering and Product Lead, you will:
- Set the strategic direction for cyber security engineering services.
- Lead a team within the Cyber Security Architecture, Product and Testing function.
- Provide expert technical and engineering guidance.
- Oversee delivery of cyber security engineering tasks.
- Support projects and business units across TfL.
- Implement appropriate security controls across IT and OT systems.
- Act as a technical point of contact for the wider Cyber Security team.
- Build, enhance and develop security tools and solutions used by the Security Operations Centre.
- Manage the lifecycle of cyber security tooling.
- Oversee tooling renewals.
- Work with internal teams and trusted external partners.
- Translate cyber security risks into practical business-focused recommendations.
- Support engineering and product delivery that results in measurable risk reduction.
KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should have current knowledge and understanding of:
- Cyber security and information security principles.
- Security practices, tools and techniques.
- Telecommunications and IP networking.
- Network and computer system architecture.

A degree or equivalent experience in science, engineering, technology, computing, cyber security or a related discipline is desirable.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 per year
