Job Summary

As a Family Link Worker, you will be part of a professional team delivering services through Liverpool’s Children’s Centres and Family Hubs.

The role is varied and involves both centre-based work and support within family homes.

You will help families access appropriate services, develop targeted intervention plans and provide practical support to improve outcomes for young children.

The role has a particular focus on early learning, family support, speech, language and communication development.

Key Responsibilities

The successful Family Link Worker will:

  • Develop and deliver Early Learning sessions for families with children under five.
  • Observe children and plan activities to support their progression.
  • Identify areas where children or families may require additional support.
  • Provide support to families within their homes.
  • Help parents and carers strengthen the skills they already have.
  • Support parents to create positive learning environments at home.
  • Help children reach their potential and prepare for nursery or school.
  • Work closely with schools, nurseries and community settings.
  • Engage families and encourage participation in relevant services.
  • Promote children’s learning and development.
  • Support children’s speech, language and communication skills.
  • Provide early intervention to families experiencing difficulties.
  • Work with families and partner agencies to develop targeted intervention plans.
  • Deliver services as part of Liverpool’s Early Help offer.
  • Build trusting relationships with parents and carers.
