About the role

HMGCC is looking for a Cleaner to join its Corporate & Business Support team in Hanslope.

The role offers a full-time Monday-to-Friday schedule, with working hours from 6am to 2pm, leaving afternoons free. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean and welcoming working environment for employees and visitors.

You will work as part of a supportive and inclusive team while helping HMGCC maintain the facilities that support the UK government’s secure communications and national security mission.

Key responsibilities

As a Cleaner, your duties will include:

  • Cleaning designated areas of the site in line with the cleaning schedule and required standards.
  • Emptying litter and recycling bins and taking waste to designated areas.
  • Using powered cleaning equipment where required.
  • Carrying out emergency cleaning, including clearing up after flooding.
  • Collecting and distributing laundry, including white coats and tea towels.
  • Reporting maintenance or repair issues when identified.

Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Some experience of cleaning duties, preferably within an office or workplace environment.
  • Some experience dealing with members of the public.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • The ability to start work at 6am.

The following would be beneficial but are not essential:

  • Awareness of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations. Training will be provided to successful applicants.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
