About the Role
The Night Support Worker Supervisor will provide day-to-day supervision to a small team of Health and Support Workers during night shifts, working under the supervision of a Night Manager.
The role involves supporting people with their care needs, overseeing medication and personal care, promoting wellbeing and maintaining safety throughout the night.
You will also help promote a strength-based enablement approach, supporting people to achieve identified goals and remain in, or return to, a place they call home.
Although the main base is Perth House, you must be able to travel to other locations where Derbyshire Community Health Services provides services.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise a small team of Health and Support Workers during night shifts.
- Support the Night Manager with the delivery of high-quality care.
- Oversee and administer medication as required.
- Undertake and oversee personal care tasks.
- Monitor the wellbeing and safety of people using the service.
- Help maintain the safety and security of the building during night hours.
- Promote high-quality, strength-based enablement support.
- Support patients to achieve identified goals and maintain independence.
- Contribute to rehabilitation and care delivery for adults and older people.
- Recognise safeguarding concerns and follow appropriate escalation procedures.
- Work flexibly across DCHS service locations when required.
Requirements / Person Specification
Essential qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 or above, or equivalent knowledge gained through experience and training.
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics, or equivalent.
Essential experience and knowledge:
- Good understanding of rehabilitation and care delivery.
- Recent experience working within an adult or older people’s rehabilitation setting.
- Experience working as a Band 3 Health/Social Care Assistant or Support Worker.
- Knowledge of adult safeguarding and escalation procedures.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of strength-based assessment.
Essential skills and attributes:
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of IT systems and software packages.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to travel to any site where DCHS services are provided.
Salary & Benefits
The position is offered at NHS Agenda for Change Band 4, with a salary of:
£28,392 – £31,157 per year, pro rata
The role is permanent and available on either a full-time or part-time basis.

Working Pattern
The night team operates across seven days, including weekends and bank holidays.
Available working arrangements include:
- 4 shifts on / 4 shifts off
- 2 shifts on / 6 shifts off
