About the Role

Avery Healthcare is recruiting a Senior Care Assistant to join the team at Westwood Care Home in Sheringham.

The role involves supporting the care team to provide high standards of personal care while helping create a safe, caring, supportive and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff.

You will play an important role in monitoring residents’ wellbeing, supporting person-centred care planning, assisting with medication requirements and acting as a key point of contact for residents, relatives and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Care Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality personal care and support to residents.
  • Monitoring residents’ wellbeing and identifying changes that may affect their care.
  • Ensuring care plans and written records are updated when residents’ needs change.
  • Supporting person-centred care planning, implementation and monthly evaluations.
  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.
  • Undertaking staff supervisions and helping colleagues with their development where required.
  • Acting as a key contact for residents, relatives, visitors and health and social care professionals.
  • Responding to reasonable requests and escalating concerns or complaints appropriately.
  • Promoting a caring, respectful and supportive environment for residents and colleagues.

Requirements / Person Specification

The successful candidate should have:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in care for care homes.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in a similar care environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • A positive attitude towards supporting and nurturing residents and staff.
  • The ability to work flexibly and respond to a range of responsibilities.
  • A caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable approach to work.
