About the Role
As a Graduate Technical Professional, you will work within the ICT & Digital Team while developing your technical knowledge through structured training and workplace experience.
You will provide second-line technical support, help maintain service operation and security, and contribute to the resolution of incidents and service requests.
The programme will allow you to develop experience in one or more ICT areas, including:
- Servers
- Networks
- Databases
- Applications
Successful development through the programme can lead towards progression into an ICT Technical Professional role.
The position is fixed term to enable completion of the Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship and will end 24 months after your start date.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing second-line technical support within a specific area of technical capability.
- Maintaining service operation and security.
- Resolving incidents and service requests.
- Assessing and supporting the evaluation of major incidents.
- Supporting service operations during disaster recovery situations.
- Analysing tasks relating to business service operations and projects.
- Taking ownership of incidents and requests assigned through the council’s online reporting system.
- Supporting the installation and maintenance of systems within your technical area.
- Providing emergency technical support when required.
- Developing knowledge and practical experience across relevant ICT components.
