Role of the Job

The Moderator plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of the Slickdeals community by enforcing rules, policies, and guidelines. This involves responding to reports from community members, proactively monitoring for potential violations, and collaborating with other teams to address issues.

Main Responsibilities

• Directly respond to reports from community members regarding potential policy violations
• Proactively monitor for policy infractions and document findings
• Issue formal notifications, warnings, or bans to users as necessary
• Arbitrate disputes between community members and respond to protests
• Communicate with other teams to address identified issues
• Maintain knowledge of current rules, policies, and guidelines
• Assist with requests for account closures
• Serve as an ambassador for the Slickdeals community

Qualification Needed

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with dispute arbitration and de-escalating tense situations
• Proficiency with Google Docs and Sheets (preferred)
• Knowledge of internet-based terms and technologies (preferred)
• Understanding of the Slickdeals community and its culture (preferred)
• Experience with moderating forum-based communities (preferred)
