Job Overview
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting an ICT Technical Analyst to provide first- and second-line desktop support to more than 14,000 clinical and non-clinical staff across the Trust.
This is a permanent, full-time Band 5 position based at Denmark Hill, London, with cross-site working across South East London and Kent when required.
The successful candidate will provide technical support by telephone, email, face-to-face and remotely, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues and supporting NHS users across a wide range of IT systems.

About the Role
The ICT Technical Analyst will provide customer-focused first- and second-line desktop support to clinical and non-clinical staff across King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The role involves troubleshooting and resolving IT problems, responding to service desk calls, installing and configuring hardware and software, maintaining user accounts and supporting users with technical issues.
Support may be provided remotely or through visits to users at different Trust sites.
The position also requires the successful candidate to work with sensitive and complex ICT information while following Trust policies, procedures, service-level agreements and data protection requirements.
Weekend working will be required on a rota basis, with TOIL (time off in lieu) provided.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing first- and second-line technical support to Trust users.
- Taking calls through the ICT Helpdesk and accurately logging incidents.
- Diagnosing and resolving IT issues at first contact where possible.
- Escalating complex problems to the appropriate technical teams.
- Providing remote technical assistance and visiting users when necessary.
- Diagnosing faults involving PCs, laptops, printers, hardware and software.
- Installing, configuring and upgrading computer hardware and software.
- Supporting Microsoft-based network environments.
- Maintaining computer hardware, including desktops and printers.
- Resetting passwords and managing NHS Net email accounts.
- Maintaining user IT accounts and system access rights.
- Supporting networked and clinical systems.
- Using ASM Service Desk software to record and manage incidents.
- Working with Active Directory and other databases.
- Providing technical advice to users, departments and system managers.
