National Savings and Investments (NS&I) is recruiting an IT Technical Operations Manager (Data and Information) to provide senior technical oversight across its IT estate.
This is a permanent, full-time Grade 7 / NS&I Band 4 opportunity with a salary of £54,000 to £62,000, depending on location.
The successful candidate will work across data and information, cloud technology, live IT operations, technical risk, service improvement, suppliers, audit and operational governance.

About the Role
The IT Technical Operations Manager will provide senior technical oversight across the NS&I IT estate, with a particular focus on data and information across Retail, B2B and Corporate services.
The role is responsible for helping ensure that platforms, channels and live services operate with strong standards around:

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Provide technical oversight across the NS&I IT estate.
- Act as a subject matter expert for data and information within live IT operations.
- Ensure data and information policies, standards and best practices are embedded within IT operations.
- Ensure supplier-managed data is appropriately governed and controlled.
- Review how data is managed, stored and transferred by suppliers.
- Ensure production systems align with agreed architecture, designs and best practices.
- Review data models and entity models as part of operational assurance.
- Help ensure projects are successfully transitioned into live services.
- Provide technical challenge and guidance on proposed changes.
- Support continuous improvement across IT operations.
- Identify and manage legacy technical debt.
- Develop change requests to support remediation of technical debt.
- Support the Head of IT Services with technical oversight.
- Strengthen risk, audit and operational controls.
- Review service reporting and technical metrics.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational oversight processes.
- Support internal and external audit activities.
- Ensure agreed audit actions are completed on schedule.
