About the Role
The Environment Agency is recruiting enthusiastic and organised Project Support Officers to support innovative projects that reduce flood risk and enhance the natural environment.
The successful candidates will contribute to projects covering flood risk, climate resilience, wildlife, nature restoration and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Project Executives and Managers with project delivery.
- Assist Team Leaders with administrative tasks.
- Manage digital workspaces.
- Support financial tracking and reporting.
- Provide administrative support for meetings.
- Prepare letters, reports and key documents.
- Support Business as Usual processes.
- Coordinate activities across project teams.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and delivery partners.

Skills and Experience Required
- A Levels or equivalent are desirable.
- Positive, proactive and enthusiastic approach.
- Strong communication skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.

Driving and Travel Requirements
A driving licence is required.
The role may involve occasional travel and overnight stays. Candidates may also be expected to regularly work from Hub or delivery-partner offices.
Incident Response Duties
All successful candidates are required to undertake training and participate in incident response duties when required.
Incident response is an essential part of working for the Environment Agency and helps support communities and prevent harm to the environment.
About the Team
Programme and Project Delivery (PPD) provides project and programme management at regional and national levels.
The area-based teams manage projects covering:
- Flood risk
- Climate resilience
- Wildlife
- Nature restoration
- Environmental improvement
- Community engagement
Project Support Officers work alongside Project Leaders, Executives and Managers and collaborate with delivery partners to achieve sustainable outcomes.
