About the Role

Nacro is recruiting a Housing Support Worker to join its Community Accommodation with Support, Tier 2 (CAS-2) programme in Liverpool.

The CAS-2 programme is commissioned by the Ministry of Justice and provides accommodation and support to eligible people leaving prison or suitable for release into the community.

The role focuses on helping service users develop the skills, stability and confidence needed to maintain accommodation and move towards independent living.

Working Hours

The position is 37.5 hours per week.

The service operates on a rolling rotational basis:

  • Monday to Friday: 08:00–22:00
  • Saturday: 09:00–17:00

Shift patterns and flexibility will be discussed during the interview.

Travel Requirement

Regular travel across an allocated area is required.

  • Access to their own vehicle

Salary & Pay Progression

The advertised salary is £27,807 per annum, comprising:

  • £26,807 base salary
  • £1,000 unsociable-hours payment

Nacro states that its pay framework provides transparent progression points, with expected progression to £27,477 within the first year subject to meeting the relevant criteria and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting Service Users

  • Assess individual support needs.
  • Develop person-centred support and safety plans.
  • Assist with housing applications.
  • Support Housing Benefit claims.
  • Assist with rent payments and tenancy sustainment.
  • Help service users develop independence.

Property Management

  • Ensure properties meet the Decent Homes Standard.
  • Report and respond to maintenance issues.
  • Support service users in maintaining safe living environments.
  • Provide guidance on appropriate property management.

Multi-Agency Working

Work collaboratively with:

  • Probation services
  • Court staff
  • Housing providers
  • Statutory and community agencies

Tenancy & Independent Living Support

Help service users develop practical skills to manage their accommodation and live independently.

You will also support individuals preparing for successful move-on into independent accommodation.

Risk Management & Safeguarding

Identify and respond appropriately to:

  • Safeguarding concerns
  • Anti-social behaviour
  • Tenancy risks
  • Other risks affecting service users or accommodation

Maintain appropriate records and manage issues in line with organisational policies.

Records & Compliance

Maintain accurate and timely case records and ensure support delivery complies with organisational and contractual requirements.

About the Ideal Candidate

Nacro is looking for someone with experience in a support or housing-related role, particularly experience working with vulnerable adults and people with complex needs.

You should have:
