 Overview

Liverpool City Council is hiring a qualified Social Worker to support young people leaving care and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). This role focuses on delivering life-changing support and helping young people transition into independent living.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with care leavers and UASC young people
• Provide emotional and practical support
• Conduct assessments (including age assessments where required)
• Apply knowledge of children’s legislation, housing, and immigration law
• Deliver safeguarding and care planning services
• Collaborate with multi-agency teams

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England (SWE) registration
• Experience in Children’s Social Care
• Strong understanding of looked-after children systems
• Knowledge of immigration and housing legislation
• Experience working with traumatized young people or asylum seekers (preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
