Overview
Liverpool City Council is hiring a qualified Social Worker to support young people leaving care and Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC). This role focuses on delivering life-changing support and helping young people transition into independent living.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with care leavers and UASC young people
- Provide emotional and practical support
- Conduct assessments (including age assessments where required)
- Apply knowledge of children’s legislation, housing, and immigration law
- Deliver safeguarding and care planning services
- Collaborate with multi-agency teams
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England (SWE) registration
- Experience in Children’s Social Care
- Strong understanding of looked-after children systems
- Knowledge of immigration and housing legislation
- Experience working with traumatized young people or asylum seekers (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
