About the Role
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will join the engineering team as the company’s product continues to scale to support millions of users.
You will design and deliver high-quality, maintainable backend software using Node.js and TypeScript, following established architectural standards and testing practices.
You will also contribute to backend performance, reliability and maintaining a 99% uptime SLA.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript
- Build and extend robust APIs and microservices
- Work with gameplay, user management, platform and content management systems
- Develop scalable backend architecture
- Support system performance and reliability
- Help maintain the 99% uptime SLA
- Work with Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Collaborate with product and game development teams
- Ensure features align with backend architecture
- Work with DevOps teams on deployment reliability and observability
- Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks
- Contribute to CI/CD processes
- Take ownership of complex technical systems
- Mentor junior members of the engineering team
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong backend software engineering experience
- Excellent Node.js experience
- Strong TypeScript skills
- Experience with Kafka
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures
- Experience with microservices
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs
- Experience designing scalable systems
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
Database Experience
Experience with one or more of the following:
