Overview
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is recruiting a compassionate and motivated Senior Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) to join the Medical Assessment Unit at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.
You’ll support Registered Nurses in delivering high-quality, person-centred care within an acute hospital environment while working as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate patient care in the Acute Medical Unit
- Monitor patient observations and vital signs
- Assist with wound care, stoma care, and urinalysis
- Support patient transfers and mobility
- Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality
- Ensure infection prevention and health & safety compliance
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment
Requirements
- SVQ 3 qualification or equivalent healthcare experience
- Understanding of infection control and health & safety procedures
- Ability to work under supervision of Registered Nurses
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Caring and compassionate attitude
- Willingness to work rotational day and night shifts
Working Pattern
- 18–36 hours per week
- 12-hour rotational shifts
- Monday to Sunday
- Day & Night shifts available
