About the Role
Wayve is hiring an Application Software Engineer to support the deployment and localization of its autonomous driving AI platform for the Japanese market. You’ll work directly on embedded automotive systems, platform bring-up, hardware integration, and validation across advanced automotive SoCs and operating systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute software bring-up on automotive hardware platforms such as NVIDIA Drive and Qualcomm Ride.
- Configure and port Linux, QNX, and Adaptive AUTOSAR systems.
- Integrate drivers, middleware, and boot configurations.
- Support CI/CD, HIL testing, and automation infrastructure.
- Collaborate with OEM and Tier-1 automotive partners.
- Develop automation tools for flashing, diagnostics, and testing.
- Implement system logging, secure boot, and health monitoring.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years in embedded or automotive software engineering.
- Strong programming skills in:
- C/C++
- Python
- Bash
- Deep Linux embedded systems knowledge:
- Yocto
- systemd
- bootloaders
- device trees
- Experience with:
- QNX
- Adaptive AUTOSAR
- Automotive-grade SoCs
- Familiarity with:
- CAN
- Ethernet
- PCIe
- SPI
- I2C
- Experience integrating embedded platforms into CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- HIL testing environments and Vector toolchains.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 and safety-critical systems.
- Secure boot and OTA update experience.
- Docker, Jenkins, Git, and JFrog Artifactory familiarity.

Ideal Candidate
This role is best suited for senior embedded systems engineers with strong automotive platform experience who want to work on autonomous driving technology in Japan. Japanese language skills are not required.
