About the Role
The University of Reading is seeking a dedicated and professional Halls Patroller to join its Security Team. This role involves helping to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors across the university’s residential halls and campus facilities.
Successful candidates will work night shifts on a rotating schedule and play an important role in supporting student wellbeing, safeguarding vulnerable individuals, and responding to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol university halls of residence and campus facilities.
- Support the safety and wellbeing of students and staff.
- Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies.
- Assist in managing disputes and security concerns.
- Monitor halls accommodating students under 18 years of age.
- Work closely with emergency services when required.
- Provide excellent customer service and community support.
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for supporting a diverse and multicultural community.
- Interest in career development within the security sector.
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence (required).
- Ability to work night shifts and rotating schedules.
- Successful completion of a DBS check.
