About the Role

HomeCareDirect is seeking a caring and proactive Support Worker to assist a gentleman in his 50s who lives at home with his wife and two children. The successful candidate will support his independence, wellbeing, and participation in daily activities.

The client enjoys music, socializing, travelling with family, theatre visits, and spending time with visitors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building positive relationships and helping others achieve a better quality of life.

Working Hours

Applicants must be flexible and able to work split shifts:

Weekdays

  • 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Weekends

  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage confidence, independence, and social engagement
  • Support daily living activities
  • Accompany the client to appointments and social outings
  • Assist with moving and handling using a hoist
  • Support catheter care requirements
  • Help maintain the client’s hydrotherapy pool
  • Provide personal care assistance
  • Prepare meals and support nutritional needs
  • Administer medication as required
  • Promote safety and wellbeing at all times

Requirements

Essential

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Must be aged 21 or over for insurance purposes
  • Comfortable working around dogs
  • No dog allergies
  • Reliable, flexible, and compassionate attitude
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable

  • Previous care or support work experience
  • Experience supporting family members or friends in a caring role
  • Understanding of person-centred care

No professional care experience is required. Full training will be provided to successful candidates.
