Role Overview
The SHE Advisor will act as a competent health, safety, and environmental professional within the SHE Group. The role involves providing expert guidance on the safe operation and compliance of engineering infrastructure and estates assets.
The successful candidate will ensure that electrical systems, pressure systems, gas installations, water systems, and other critical infrastructure meet all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

SHE Compliance
- Provide professional advice on health, safety, and environmental legislation.
- Support compliance with statutory regulations and industry standards.
- Advise on risk management and safe systems of work.
- Assist in managing statutory inspections and compliance activities.
Technical Safety Expertise
Provide specialist guidance on:
- Legionella management and water safety compliance.
- Asbestos management and regulatory compliance.
- Gas safety systems.
- Electrical safety for low-voltage and high-voltage infrastructure.
- Pressure systems and engineering safety requirements.
Estates and Contractor Management
- Support compliance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
- Assess contractor competence and safety performance.
- Review risk assessments and method statements.
- Monitor contractor compliance and project safety standards.
Auditing and Continuous Improvement
- Conduct SHE audits and inspections.
- Develop and maintain safety codes and procedures.
- Monitor corrective actions and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate compliance records and reports.
Incident Investigation
- Investigate workplace incidents and near misses.
- Perform root cause analysis.
- Implement lessons learned and preventive measures.
Training and Awareness
- Assist in developing SHE policies and procedures.
- Deliver safety training and awareness programs.
- Promote a proactive safety culture across the organization.
Emergency Response
- Participate in emergency planning activities.
- Provide SHE support during emergencies.
- Join an on-call rota outside normal working hours when required.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- HND in Science, Engineering, Construction, or Built Environment-related discipline.
- NEBOSH Level 6 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or be in the final stages of completion).
Essential Experience
Candidates should demonstrate experience in:
- Electrical infrastructure (low and high voltage systems).
- Pressure systems.
- Water safety and Legionella control.
- Gas systems safety.
- Asbestos management.
- Statutory compliance and maintenance requirements.
- Writing safety policies and procedures.
- Investigating safety incidents and preparing reports.
- Delivering engineering renewal, maintenance, or construction projects.
- Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for professional reports and presentations.
