About the Role

Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Recovery Support Worker to join the Inclusion Substance Misuse Team at HMP Gartree.

The successful applicant will provide evidence-based drug and alcohol recovery interventions to service users through both group sessions and one-to-one support.

The role includes managing a caseload, supporting recovery plans, delivering psychosocial interventions and working alongside clinical prescribing services and other professionals.

Main Responsibilities

• Organise and facilitate groupwork programmes within the establishment.
• Accept referrals, assess needs and prioritise groupwork attendees.
• Provide harm-reduction advice and support, including safer drug use, safer sex, HIV and hepatitis-related information.
• Maintain an appropriate caseload and provide key-worker support.
• Complete comprehensive assessments as required.
• Develop and review care packages and care plans with multidisciplinary colleagues.
• Manage onward referrals where required.
• Support service-user involvement and related projects.
• Help recruit, manage and supervise recovery champions and mentors.
• Provide training and ongoing support to recovery champions and mentors.
• Work with professionals to address safeguarding and mental-health needs.
• Deliver low, medium and high-intensity substance-misuse interventions.

Essential Requirements

Experience

• Experience working in a health and social care setting.

Qualification

• A qualification in a health and social care-related area.

Working Environment

The successful candidate will work within a custodial environment as part of a multidisciplinary substance-misuse service.

The role involves supporting men through their recovery plans and contributing to an integrated drug and alcohol recovery service.

Training and Development

The employer states that it invests in training and development and provides in-house training and coaching support, alongside wellbeing and lifestyle support.
