Salary & Additional Payments

Successful candidates will receive:

  • Base salary of £30,991 – £35,400 per year
  • Up to 4 sleep-in shifts per month paid at £80 per sleep-in (approximately £3,840 annually)
  • £1,400 Attendance Allowance for good attendance
  • Total potential annual earnings of up to £40,640

About the Role

As a Senior Children’s Residential Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Your responsibilities include providing day-to-day care, creating a safe and nurturing environment, supporting colleagues during shifts, and deputising for Team Leaders when required. Every day presents an opportunity to positively influence a young person’s life while helping them develop confidence, independence, and life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and emotional support to young people.
  • Build trusting and positive relationships with children.
  • Lead and support colleagues during shifts.
  • Ensure the home operates safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in delivering personalised care plans.
  • Help young people develop practical and social life skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and safeguarding standards.
  • Deputise for Team Leaders when necessary.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • A caring, compassionate, and positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Emotional resilience and the ability to manage challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
  • A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months.
  • A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare is desirable, but not essential, as fully funded training is provided.

No previous experience is required—comprehensive training is available for suitable candidates.
