Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personal care and support to residents.
- Promote dignity, independence, choice and respect.
- Support residents’ physical, emotional and social wellbeing.
- Lead the night shift team effectively.
- Administer medications safely and accurately.
- Maintain accurate medication and care records.
- Complete shift handovers thoroughly.
- Ensure high standards of care across the team.
- Support, mentor and supervise care staff.
- Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members.
- Promote best practice and address poor practice when necessary.
- Assist with investigations into complaints and concerns when required.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care (minimum) or equivalent professional qualification.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Care Assistant in a residential or nursing home.
- Knowledge of Person-Centred Care Planning.
- Understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Medication administration experience.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Good time management abilities.
- Caring, compassionate and positive attitude.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must live within 30 minutes of the care home.
