About the Role
As a Security Officer Associate, you’ll play a vital role in protecting Home Office buildings, employees, visitors, and government assets.
You’ll receive comprehensive training and work with experienced colleagues while operating modern security systems and supporting national security operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Control access to Home Office buildings.
- Conduct internal and external security patrols.
- Monitor CCTV and security systems.
- Respond to alarms and security incidents.
- Search vehicles and individuals when required.
- Produce accurate incident reports.
- Issue visitor and contractor passes.
- Maintain health and safety standards.
- Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring site security.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Previous experience in security or a customer-facing environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence (manual or automatic).
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade A–E or equivalent).
Working Pattern
This is a full-time shift-based role involving:
- Early morning, evening and weekend shifts.
- Public holiday working where required.
