About the Role
Scrumconnect Consulting is recruiting an experienced Senior PHP Developer to build, maintain and improve WordPress-based digital services used across UK Government departments.
You’ll work within agile multidisciplinary teams alongside designers, content specialists and delivery managers to create secure, accessible and high-performing websites.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain WordPress websites.
- Build custom WordPress themes and plugins using PHP.
- Create responsive interfaces with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript.
- Maintain website security, updates and performance.
- Develop content-driven websites and publishing platforms.
- Ensure WCAG accessibility compliance.
- Troubleshoot issues across development and production environments.
- Participate in code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Support CI/CD deployment processes.
Essential Requirements
- 5+ years of commercial web development experience.
- Strong PHP development skills.
- Extensive WordPress development experience.
- Experience building custom themes and plugins.
- HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript expertise.
- Website maintenance and security experience.
- Experience working within Agile teams.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
