About the Role
The ICT Planning & Support Manager will lead teams responsible for delivering reliable ICT services across DWFRS systems and its mobilisation function.
The successful candidate will help maintain a responsive 24/7 ICT support service, develop effective ICT processes, manage documentation, reduce operational risk and support long-term financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ICT teams delivering reliable ICT and mobilisation services.
- Ensure an efficient and responsive 24/7 ICT support function.
- Develop, implement and manage ICT processes.
- Maintain accurate ICT documentation.
- Work closely with internal business stakeholders.
- Reduce operational risk and provide service assurance.
- Manage associated ICT budgets.
- Provide financial insight for future budget planning.
- Support the sustainability of ICT services.
- Participate in responses to major ICT incidents, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Essential Requirements
Candidates should have:
- A degree-level qualification or equivalent managerial qualification OR significant senior management experience in a relevant sector.
- Relevant experience in ICT, public sector or customer services.
- Experience managing budgets of approximately £1 million or more.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A positive approach to internal and external customer service.
- Strong leadership, organisation and stakeholder-management skills.

Location & Flexible Working
The successful candidate can be based at:
- Dorchester Support Offices
- Service Headquarters, Salisbury
The role requires attendance at Potterne, Dorchester or Salisbury approximately 2–3 days per week for key activities and meetings.
Outside the centre of duty, there is flexibility to work from home, DWFRS stations or support offices.

Driving Requirement
Applicants must hold a full current driving licence and be able to meet the travel requirements of the role.
Use of your own vehicle will be required, although a Service vehicle may be available. Service vehicles are manual transmission only.
