Job Overview
Priory Beverley House is recruiting a Senior Mental Health Nurse to join its team in Edgbaston, Birmingham.
This is an opportunity for an experienced senior nurse to provide high-quality, person-centred care to patients with complex mental health needs while working alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team.
About Priory Beverley House
Priory Beverley House is a Level 2 rehabilitation service for females with complex mental health needs.
The service supports patients with conditions including:
- Emotionally unstable personality disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Bipolar disorder
- Other complex mental health needs
The service is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes along City Road and Five Ways railway station approximately one mile away.
Main Responsibilities
As a Senior Mental Health Nurse, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating patient care.
Your duties will include:
- Delivering high-quality, person-centred nursing care.
- Assessing, planning, implementing and reviewing care plans in partnership with patients and their families.
- Supporting patients with their physical and mental health needs.
- Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to monitor patient wellbeing.
- Responding appropriately to changing patient needs.
- Escalating clinical concerns when necessary.
- Taking responsibility as Nurse in Charge when required.
- Prioritising and delegating duties effectively.
- Maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Supporting, supervising and developing junior staff.
- Supporting student nurses and contributing to their development.
- Contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Maintaining high standards of professional nursing practice.
- Promoting patient choice, dignity and independence.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have experience working as a Senior Nurse.
- Have a good understanding of NMC standards and professional practice.
- Demonstrate ongoing professional development.
- Have a positive and flexible approach to patient care.
- Be committed to delivering high-quality care.
- Be able to contribute to continuous improvement.
- Hold current UK professional registration.
Important: This position is not suitable for newly qualified nurses. Applicants need relevant experience as a Senior Nurse.
DBS Requirement
The successful applicant will be required to undergo the appropriate Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
Priory Healthcare states that it will cover the cost of the DBS check.
UK Professional Registration
