About the Security Industry Authority

The Security Industry Authority is an executive non-departmental public body sponsored by the Home Office. Established in 2004, the SIA regulates certain activities within the private security industry and currently employs nearly 400 members of staff.

The organisation is operationally independent of government.

The SIA is also preparing to take on new responsibilities as the regulator of Martyn’s Law, introduced through the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025.

The new responsibilities will include guidance, investigation and inspection functions, alongside new regulatory powers and sanctions.

About the ICT Support Analyst Role

The SIA is looking for a dynamic ICT Analyst who can quickly become an effective member of its ICT team.

The successful candidate will provide ICT support to staff, manage incidents, contribute to projects and help ensure the organisation’s technology services remain efficient, secure and reliable.

The role requires someone who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, solve problems, prioritise urgent issues and maintain a strong customer-service focus.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation while helping to keep the SIA connected and operational.

Key Skills and Experience Required

Applicants should have demonstrable experience providing ICT support to end users.

You should also have experience with:

  • Microsoft 365 applications and services
  • Administration of Microsoft 365 through various admin centres
  • Microsoft Entra
  • Active Directory
  • Microsoft CRM / Dynamics 365

  • Microsoft Teams

Essential Requirements

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience providing ICT support to end users.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications and services.
  • Experience administering Microsoft 365 across different administration centres.
  • Experience working within a Microsoft Entra and Active Directory environment.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft CRM/Dynamics 365, SharePoint, Teams and other collaboration platforms.
  • Experience using ICT services to improve organisational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • The ability to prioritise urgent issues while delivering outcomes within agreed deadlines.
  • The ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • A strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.

Desirable Experience

The following experience would be advantageous:

  • Awareness and application of ITIL-aligned processes.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and application of service-level agreements.
  • Experience liaising with and monitoring the performance of an external information systems service provider.

Salary and Pension

The advertised salary is £29,201 – £33,100 per year.

The role also comes with membership of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.

The SIA states that, alongside a salary of £29,201, it contributes £8,459 towards membership of the Civil Service pension scheme.

Security Clearance Requirements

Successful candidates will be subject to security and pre-employment checks.

The vacancy requires candidates to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance.

Applicants will normally need to have lived in the UK for the required minimum residency period for the level of vetting being undertaken. For SC clearance, the stated requirement is normally five years of UK residency immediately before the vetting application.

Candidates must also complete the required criminal record and other pre-employment checks.
