About the Support Worker Role

The Agincare Dorchester Outreach team is looking for a calm, patient and caring Support Worker who can provide consistent, person-centred support.

The successful candidate will support a gentleman who is highly independent and values having control over his daily life while having reliable support available when needed.

The role is focused on promoting wellbeing, encouraging independence, providing emotional support and helping the individual remain connected with the local community.

Every day can be different. Depending on the individual’s interests and needs, you may provide support at home, accompany him on community outings, visit local venues or potentially accompany him on holidays.

Main Responsibilities

As a Support Worker, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing person-centred support and personal care.
  • Supporting the individual to maintain independence.
  • Encouraging meaningful activities and experiences.
  • Supporting communication in a way that works for the individual.
  • Promoting emotional wellbeing.
  • Encouraging community engagement.
  • Helping build confidence and independence.

Working Hours

The advertised part-time schedule is:

  • Monday: 11:00am – 3:00pm
  • Wednesday: 4:00pm – 8:00pm
  • Friday: 5:00pm – 9:00pm
  • Saturday: 4:00pm – 8:00pm

This provides approximately 16 hours per week based on the advertised schedule.

Requirements
