The University of Manchester is hiring a School Operations Assistant to join the School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED) within its Humanities Faculty.

This role would suit someone with strong administrative, organisational and communication skills who enjoys working with people and supporting a busy team.

About the Role

The School Operations Assistant will provide proactive operational and administrative support across SEED.

Working as part of the School Operations team, you will help ensure that day-to-day activities are delivered accurately, efficiently and on time. You will also provide professional support to staff, postgraduate research (PGR) students and other members of the School community.

The role involves a mixture of administration, customer service, record keeping, event support and coordination.

Key Responsibilities

▫️ Support the Operations team with activities across the School, Faculty and University.

▫️ Provide helpful, professional and timely customer service to students, staff and other enquiries.

▫️ Escalate queries or issues to the appropriate colleague when necessary.

▫️ Complete operational activities accurately and within agreed deadlines.

▫️ Process routine departmental and School activities, including casual worker, visitor and honorary staff applications.

▫️ Produce and maintain accurate records and documentation.

▫️ Maintain listservs and webpages.

▫️ Support School and Department events and meetings.

▫️ Arrange venues, audio-visual equipment, travel and catering such as lunches, dinners and receptions.

▫️ Act as an operational point of contact during events and meetings.

▫️ Service meetings and proactively follow up on agreed actions.

Salary & Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a salary of £27,319 to £28,778 per year, depending on relevant experience.
