About the role

Derby Homes is recruiting a Technical Officer to support its repairs surveying team and work with trades, contractors and tenants.

The role would suit someone with experience in a customer-focused environment and transferable skills from working with trades or contractors. You do not need previous social housing experience, although knowledge of current housing issues and housing legislation would be beneficial.

Key responsibilities and requirements include:

• Providing technical assistance and excellent customer service
• Working with trades, contractors and tenants
• Understanding how contracts operate
• Interpreting drawings and their requirements
• Supporting the repairs surveying team
• Understanding health and safety, particularly in relation to scaffolding
• Taking initiative while working effectively as part of a team
• Communicating effectively with contractors, trades and tenants
