Overview

Innovative Physics is seeking a talented Full Stack Developer (Mid-Level) to join its engineering team in the United Kingdom.

This role focuses on building advanced scientific web applications for gamma imaging systems and radiation detectors. The successful candidate will work closely with physicists, engineers, and hardware specialists to transform complex real-time scientific data into clear, high-performance user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities

Scientific UI/UX Development
  • Design intuitive and visually effective scientific web interfaces
  • Build user-friendly dashboards for imaging and radiation systems
  • Translate complex engineering data into readable visual experiences
Real-Time Data & Streaming
  • Handle real-time sensor and video data streams
  • Integrate radiation overlays with optical video feeds
  • Ensure reliable frontend-backend communication
Full Stack Engineering
  • Develop scalable frontend and backend systems
  • Create robust APIs and production-ready architectures
  • Maintain performance, scalability, and system reliability
Collaboration
  • Work alongside software engineers, physicists, and hardware teams
  • Support multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Contribute to architecture and technical decision-making

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of software development experience
  • Strong knowledge of full-stack architecture and production systems
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Experience building scalable web applications
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Understanding of frontend-backend integration
  • Ability to work in fast-paced engineering environments

Desirable Skills

  • Experience with scientific instrumentation or medical imaging systems
  • Knowledge of sensor technologies and computer vision
  • Familiarity with embedded systems or firmware development
  • Understanding of cloud, on-premise, and hybrid deployments
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or leading projects

Technical Knowledge

  • Modern frontend frameworks and UI development
