About the Commercial Fast Stream

The programme provides commercial experience and skills that are highly valued across both the public and private sectors.
Postings can vary depending on departmental requirements. Recent Fast Stream postings have included locations across the East Midlands, London, North West, Scotland, South East, West Midlands, and Yorkshire and the Humber.
Candidates can express location preferences, but cannot choose their specific department or role.
Eligibility
You must:
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Have, or be on track to achieve, a 2:2 degree or higher in any subject, including degree apprenticeships.
- Existing Civil Servants can apply without a degree.

Security Clearance
Successful candidates will generally be considered for Security Check (SC) clearance.

The assessment centre is conducted virtually and includes a written exercise, oral briefing exercise and personal development conversation.

Nationality Requirements
The role is broadly open to eligible UK nationals, Irish nationals, qualifying Commonwealth citizens and certain EU/EEA/Swiss nationals and family members with the required UK immigration status.
