About the Role
The Inventory Assistant will support the Procurement Manager with the day-to-day operation of the central store and inventory processes.
Responsibilities include maintaining accurate stock records, monitoring stock levels, receiving deliveries, checking goods, storing products correctly and preparing stock for distribution to multiple clinics.
The role requires someone who can work independently, use their own initiative and maintain a high level of accuracy in a regulated healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records for medicines, consumables, medical equipment and other goods.
- Apply appropriate stock rotation principles, including FIFO/FEFO.
- Assist with stock counts, cycle counts and audits.
- Monitor stock levels and raise requests for replenishment when required.
- Stack and replenish received stock according to company procedures.
- Pack stock for distribution to clinics.
- Support the Procurement Manager with central store operations.
- Report damaged or near-expiry stock.
- Investigate and report inventory discrepancies.
- Compile relevant inventory reports.
- Receive incoming deliveries and check goods against purchase orders.
- Verify quantities, batch numbers, expiry dates and supporting documentation.
- Report damaged, expired or non-compliant items.
- Record received stock accurately within the relevant inventory system.
Storage and Stock Handling
- Store medicines, consumables and equipment in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain appropriate temperature-controlled storage where required.
- Segregate quarantined, expired or recalled stock when instructed.
- Keep storage areas, including fridges, clean and organised.
- Monitor storage temperatures daily and maintain appropriate records.
- Pick, pack and prepare stock accurately for dispatch.
- Ensure correct labelling, documentation and packaging.
- Coordinate timely deliveries to clinics and other sites.
Compliance and Safety
- Follow health and safety requirements when handling medicines, equipment and other stock.
- Maintain audit-ready records and documentation, including temperature logs.
- Follow infection prevention and control procedures.
- Comply with organisational policies relating to confidentiality, information governance and data protection.
- Follow safeguarding requirements relating to children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Systems and Reporting
- Update inventory systems when processing receipts, transfers and stocktakes.
