Job Overview

About the Role

As a Care Support Assistant, you will provide practical, personal and emotional support while encouraging the client to remain as independent as possible.

Full induction and ongoing training will be provided to help you develop the confidence and skills required for the role.

The rolling rota consists of:

• 3 weeks: 20 hours per week
• 4th week: 10 hours per week
• Day and waking night shifts
• Day rate: £17.49 per hour
• Waking night rate: £18.24 per hour

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You may provide support with:

• Personal hygiene
• Toileting
• Food and drink preparation
• Supporting the client to eat and drink
• Moving and handling
• Maintaining skin integrity
• Non-invasive ventilation during the night
• Medication administration
• Cough assist
• Social activities
• Daily routines
• Household tasks
• Meal preparation
• Appointments
• Community activities
• Companionship and emotional support
• Promoting independence

What You Will Do

As a Care Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the client with daily routines
• Encouraging independence wherever possible
• Providing companionship and emotional support
• Helping with household activities
• Preparing meals
• Supporting food and drink needs
• Supporting attendance at appointments
• Supporting community and social activities
• Administering medication when required
• Providing person-centred support based on individual needs

Requirements

The successful candidate should have:

Previous experience in care is advantageous but not essential.

Full training will be provided.

A full UK driving licence is advantageous.
