About the Role

The successful candidates will join the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) team within the Digital Services Directorate at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

The EPR programme is a major digital transformation initiative designed to:

  • Improve staff workflows

  • Support better outcomes for service users
  • Modernise digital systems across the Trust

As an EPR Programme Delivery Support Officer, you will work closely with the EPR Programme Manager, project managers, workstream leads and multidisciplinary teams.

Main Responsibilities

Programme Support

  • Support the establishment and daily operation of the EPR Programme Delivery Support Office.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to an EPR Programme Delivery Support Analyst.
  • Act as a key contact for programme delivery queries.
  • Support project managers and workstream leads with programme methodologies, templates and systems.
  • Help ensure programme activities remain organised and on track.

Governance, Assurance and Reporting

  • Maintain the programme governance framework.
  • Provide secretariat support for Programme Board and workstream meetings.
  • Coordinate agendas and take concise minutes.
  • Track actions and ensure follow-up.
  • Produce programme reports, dashboards, highlight reports and RAID summaries.
  • Maintain accurate programme documentation.
  • Ensure documents are appropriately filed and version-controlled.

Planning and Programme Control

  • Maintain the integrated programme plan using MS Planner or similar systems.
  • Monitor programme progress.
  • Identify and highlight dependencies.
  • Maintain and review the programme-level Risk, Issue, Assumption and Dependency (RAID) log.
  • Administer programme change control.
  • Record change requests and monitor outcomes.
  • Help workstreams align their plans with the wider programme schedule.

Resource and Financial Support

  • Track programme expenditure against budgets.
  • Highlight financial variances.
  • Maintain resource and contract registers.
  • Track key deliverables.
  • Support programme resource coordination.
  • Assist with onboarding new team members.

Quality and Standards

  • Promote adherence to Trust project standards.
  • Support NHS Digital guidelines and relevant policies.
  • Promote Information Governance and Data Protection compliance.
  • Help coordinate assurance activities and gateway reviews.

Essential Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience.
  • PRINCE2 Foundation or equivalent project management knowledge.

Desirable Qualifications

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner.
  • APM PMQ or similar qualification.

Essential Experience

  • Substantial experience working within a RIO EPR Programme PMO.
  • Experience maintaining project plans, risk logs and reports.
  • Experience providing secretariat support to senior meetings.
  • Experience using project management software such as MS Project or Planner.
  • Advanced Excel skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in digital or IT transformation projects.
  • Line management or supervision experience.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

Flexible Working
