Azalea Court Care Home is looking for a reliable and skilled Complex Care Nurse to join our team in a specialist, nurse-led complex care setting. The ideal candidate should be able to handle advanced clinical tasks efficiently, provide clinical leadership, and work with minimal supervision while upholding the highest standards of safety and person-centred care.

This is a key role focused on clinical excellence, safety, and positive outcomes for residents with high-dependency needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Clinical Care: Deliver high-dependency nursing care including invasive & non-invasive ventilation, tracheostomy care and management, PEG/NG feeding and nutritional support, suctioning, and oxygen therapy.
  • Clinical Monitoring & Assessment: Monitor neurological, respiratory, cardiac, and seizure conditions. Conduct clinical assessments, recognise deterioration, and escalate concerns appropriately to MDT/GPs.
  • Care Planning & Medication: Develop and review person-centred care plans. Administer medications safely in line with NMC standards and maintain accurate, compliant clinical documentation.
  • Team Leadership & Training: Supervise and support Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers. Carry out staff competency assessments and deliver clinical training to ensure safe practice.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with NHS professionals, GPs, therapists, case managers, commissioners, families, and carers to ensure coordinated, effective care.
  • Emotional Support: Provide clinical and emotional support to residents and relatives, promoting dignity, rehabilitation, stability, and quality of life.
  • Governance & Safeguarding: Ensure compliance with CQC standards, safeguarding policies, and health & safety regulations. Champion a culture of accountability and clinical excellence.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse – Adult, Paediatric, or Learning Disability branch with active NMC PIN
  • Experience in complex care / high-dependency settings essential
  • Clinical skills in: respiratory and airway management, enteral feeding, tracheostomy care, neurological conditions
  • Strong clinical judgement and ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions
  • Excellent leadership, supervision, and communication skills for MDT working and family liaison
  • Committed to safeguarding, CQC standards, and delivering high-quality, compassionate care
  • Eligible for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship if required.
