About the Role
As a Domiciliary Care Assistant, you will support individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence while improving their quality of life. You will provide personalised care tailored to each client’s needs, ensuring dignity, safety, and comfort at all times.
This role is ideal for experienced care professionals who are confident using hoists and moving & handling equipment while delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality personalised care in clients’ homes.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Support meal preparation and medication assistance.
- Safely operate hoists, stand aids, and other moving & handling equipment.
- Assist with transfers between beds, chairs, wheelchairs, and bathrooms.
- Follow individual care plans and occupational therapist recommendations.
- Maintain accurate electronic care records.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Support clients with mobility and transportation where required.
- Report equipment faults and changes in clients’ conditions promptly.
- Promote independence while ensuring client safety.
- Follow infection prevention and health & safety procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Minimum of 1–2 years paid experience in domiciliary care or a care home.
- Practical experience using hoists and moving & handling equipment.
- Knowledge of safe manual handling procedures.
- Good spoken and written English.
- Basic computer and IT skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable attitude.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- UK driving licence (desirable but not essential).
- Right to work in the UK or eligibility for Health and Care Worker visa sponsorship.
