About the Role
Senovo is recruiting an Autism Support Assistant to work in a specialist SEN setting in Newham. This role is ideal for compassionate individuals with experience supporting children or young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), SEN, care, youth work, or school support.
The successful candidate will provide structured, patient, and consistent support to pupils with autism and communication needs, helping them access learning and develop confidence in a supportive educational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils by:
- Assisting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and communication needs.
- Helping pupils follow daily routines and engage in classroom activities.
- Using calm, structured, and consistent behaviour support strategies.
- Providing sensory and visual routine support where required.
- Working closely with experienced SEN staff and teachers.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Experience in autism support, SEN, care work, youth work, or school support.
- Strong patience and emotional consistency.
- Understanding of autism, communication, routines, and emotional regulation.
- A reliable and caring approach with the ability to build trusting relationships.
