Job Overview
Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Family Nurse – Band 7 to join its established Family Nurse team in Tameside.
This is an opportunity to deliver the Family Nurse Partnership (FNP) programme, an evidence-based programme supporting young and vulnerable parents and their babies.
The successful candidate will work with a caseload of young, vulnerable parents who are expecting their first baby. The role involves intensive and preventive home visiting, therapeutic relationship-building, safeguarding, child development and supporting positive outcomes for families.
The Trust is looking for a flexible, warm, innovative and highly motivated Family Nurse with a strong understanding of infant psychology, therapeutic relationships, safeguarding, child development and empowerment.
Important: This role involves home visits, and being able to use a car is essential.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing an allocated caseload of vulnerable young parents.
- Delivering the Family Nurse Partnership programme effectively.
- Conducting intensive home visits.
- Developing supportive, therapeutic and empowering relationships with clients.
- Working with complex family situations.
- Supporting parents to improve outcomes for themselves and their babies.
- Applying evidence-based clinical approaches.
- Supporting infant and parent mental health.
- Promoting positive attachment and child development.
- Applying safeguarding principles and relevant policies.
- Providing anticipatory guidance to parents.

Essential Qualifications
- Nursing or midwifery qualification.
- Current NMC registration.
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional qualification.
- Completion of the FNP Family Nurse National Clinical Learning Programme.
Desirable: Master’s-level education.

- Significant experience working with families in deprived communities.
- Midwifery, child health, public health, home visiting and clinical supervision experience.
- Experience working with children and families.

- Experience working as a Family Nurse.
